Investigation into Sandra Teta Continues Despite Victim’s Reluctance
August 8, 2025
A dramatic incident unfolded outside Shanz Bar in Munyonyo when Sandra Teta allegedly struck Douglas Mayanja—widely known as Weasel Manizo—with her Mercedes Benz (registration UBH 178 Y), resulting in a broken leg and hospitalization at Nsambya Hospital.
Although Weasel reportedly intervened and requested Sandra’s release, which led to her being freed without making a statement, law enforcement has declared their intention to continue the investigation and to pursue criminal charges against her—regardless of the victim’s willingness to cooperate.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire, authorities are following through with standard procedures. They plan to re-interview Sandra and will consult with the Directorate of Police Prosecutions on the appropriate legal next steps.
This firm approach marks a departure from earlier episodes involving the couple’s prior domestic disputes—when investigations appeared to stall as a result of victims distancing themselves or leaving the country, leading to diminished momentum from police and prosecutors.
